The Data Parrot Home (opens in a new tab) dashboard is the first thing you see when you log into Data Parrot. This page provides a comprehensive snapshot of your sales performance, team activity, and deal priorities.

Think of it as your morning coffee for sales data - a quick, energizing overview that tells you exactly what you need to know to start your day effectively.

What You'll See on the Homepage

The homepage consolidates four critical views into one unified dashboard:

  1. Team Activity Card - Track engagement metrics across your entire sales team
  2. Pipeline Movement Card - See what's growing and shrinking in your pipeline
  3. Research Trends Card - Get AI-powered insights about market trends (Pro plan)
  4. Open, Won, and Lost Deals Section - View your most important deals organized by status

Each component updates in real-time based on your selected date range and filters, giving you a customized view of your sales performance.

Team Activity Card

The Team Activity Card gives you an at-a-glance view of your team's sales engagement over your selected time period. It displays five key metrics with detailed breakdowns:

  • Leads - Created, Qualified, Disqualified
  • Deals - Created, Won, Lost
  • Meetings - Booked, Held, Rescheduled, Scrapped
  • Calls - Connected, Voicemail, Failed, Scheduled
  • Emails - Sent, Received

Click the card to navigate to the full Activity Dashboard where you can see detailed breakdowns by team member, activity type, and more.


Pipeline Movement

The Pipeline Movement Card answers the critical question: "What's happening in my pipeline?" It shows you exactly what grew and what shrank during your selected time period.

The card displays:

  • Total Pipeline Value - Current pipeline amount with change percentage
  • What Grew - Categories that increased (New Deals, Amount Increased, Reopened Deals)
  • What Shrank - Categories that decreased (Closed Won, Closed Lost, Amount Decreased)

Each category includes an icon, the dollar amount, and the change from the previous period.

Watch for unusual patterns in your pipeline! If you see a big increase in "Amount Decreased" without corresponding "New Deals," it might be time to investigate why deal values are dropping.

Click the card to open the Pipeline Time Machine where you can analyze historical pipeline trends and drill into specific changes.


Research Trends

The Research Trends section leverages AI to analyze your deals and provide actionable insights about market trends, customer behavior patterns, and opportunities.

This card displays AI-generated insights organized into three categories:

  • Positive Trends - Opportunities and favorable patterns worth pursuing
  • Negative Trends - Risks and concerning patterns requiring attention
  • Feedback & Questions - Customer feedback and questions gathered from your deals

Each insight includes a title, detailed explanation, and recommended actions.

Note: Research Trends is a Pro plan feature. Essential plan users will see an upgrade overlay with a call-to-action to unlock this capability.

Deals Section

The Deals Section provides a three-column view of your most important deals, organized by status:

Open Deals (Left Column)

Each deal card displays:

  • Deal name, company, contact, and deal owner
  • Deal amount with currency, close date, and stage
  • Data Parrot AI Analysis of the deal

Won Deals (Middle Column)

Shows closed-won deals from your selected time period, helping you:

  • Celebrate wins with your team
  • Identify successful patterns
  • Track quota achievement

Lost Deals (Right Column)

Displays closed-lost deals from your selected time period so you can:

  • Learn from missed opportunities
  • Spot common objections
  • Improve future deal strategies

Click any deal to open the full deal details. Click the column headers to navigate:

  • "Open Deals" → Deal Pulse for comprehensive deal analysis
  • "Won Deals" or "Lost Deals" → Win Loss Review for closed deal analysis

Using Date Range Controls

The homepage (opens in a new tab) includes powerful date range controls at the top of the dashboard. You can choose from preset options or create custom date ranges:

Preset Date Ranges

  • Yesterday (default) - Shows yesterday's activity and deals
  • This Week - Current week (Monday through today)
  • This Month - Current month (1st through today)
  • Custom - Select any start and end date

All four dashboard cards update simultaneously when you change the date range, maintaining a consistent view across your data.

Click the Custom tab to open the date picker where you can:

  1. Select a start date
  2. Select an end date
  3. View data for any historical period

Using Master Filters

Below the date range controls, you'll find the Master Filter button that lets you filter all dashboard data by:

  • Pipelines - Focus on specific pipelines of your sales process
  • Deal Owners - View data for specific deal owners
